Xeno-free human IL-27HuXp is expressed in human 293 cells as a non-covalently bonded heterodimer cytokine composed of IL27p28 (25 kDa) and glycosylated EB13 (30 kDa). Production in human 293 cells uses a serum-free, chemically defined media and offers authentic glycosylation. Cytokines produced in non-human expression systems may have an artificial linker, a tag, and/or not human-like posttranslational modifications.

The protein was resolved by SDS- polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and the gel was stained with Coomassie blue.
The specific activity was determined by the dose-dependent inhibition of HIV replication in human CD4+ T cells and in human monocyte-derived macrophages.Fakruddin, J.M., et al. Blood 109:1841.
Briefly centrifuge the vial before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the protein in sterile 1xPBS containing 0.1% endotoxin-free recombinant human serum albumin (HSA).
